The University of Iowa’s Pat Folsom Excellence in Academic Advising Award was created to recognize the support that primary role Academic Advisors provide to students on our campus. Please click here to nominate a deserving primary role Academic Advisor on the University of Iowa campus. All nominations are due by May 1, 2024. Nominees will be notified and asked to submit brief supplemental materials to complete the nomination process by June 1, 2024.
Excellent Academic Advisors:
- Facilitate student success through critical academic guidance for undergraduates.
- Demonstrate a passion to work with students while maintaining a professional and helpful attitude.
- Contribute to a spirit of collaboration with colleagues and departments across campus to improve supports for the students served.
- Display a commitment to professional development, as well as a willingness to try new approaches.
Two primary role Academic Advisors will be selected for a monetary award and will be recognized at the annual Advising at Iowa Fall Kickoff event in September 2024. | | | Have a great idea? The Stimson Center invites undergraduates to share creative ideas for improving U.S. foreign policy, drawing new and innovative talent into the policy space, and providing avenues for young thinkers to engage with leading foreign policy institutions through the “Building a Better US Foreign Policy” competition, open now through April 30.
The winner will receive $1,000, the first runner-up $500, and the second runner-up $250. Following a period of review and editing in collaboration with the writer, the winning essay will be published by Inkstick Media. Financial Aid Fair Thursday, April 11, 12 - 3:30 p.m. In celebration of Financial Literacy Month, the Office of Student Financial Aid will be hosting our annual Financial Literacy Fair in the Hubbard Commons at the IMU.
