Grad School for History Students

Common graduate paths for history students include: history, law, education, museum studies, and library science.Join us to learn from others' real-life experiences and hear practical suggestions for grad school success. Explore if grad school is something you should consider, and find out what you can do now to achieve your goals. 

Honors in History Info Session

Find out about the Honors in History program for undergraduates at this informal presentation, led by History Honors Director Elizabeth Yale. Hear from current students and learn about how the pursuing Honors in History can prepare you for grad school, employment, and beyond.

Be a Presenter at International Day

International Day will be held on October 28, 2025, at the Iowa Memorial Union on the University of Iowa Campus. International Day has a long tradition on the University of Iowa campus and is a one-day symposium for Iowa 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students to learn about the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.  This year’s theme is “Good Health and Well-Being” (UN Sustainable Development Goal #3) and will feature a keynote with Dr. Maria Guadalupe Bruno, the University of Iowa Assistant Vice President for Student Life.

They are looking for breakout presenters for this event. As a breakout presenter, you will offer two, 45-minute breakout sessions that occur back-to-back (10:05-10:50 a.m. & 10:55-11:40 a.m.). Co-presenters are encouraged. University of Iowa students who lead breakout sessions may be eligible to receive a stipend of $100To submit a proposal for consideration, please fill out the form here. Proposal forms are due on September 16, and you will be informed shortly thereafter. 

UICA Student Impact Grants

Applications for Student Impact Grants are now open! Grants for the Winter 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters are open now through September 26th at 5pm. The Student Impact Grants provide funding for a variety of University of Iowa undergraduate and graduate student activities outside the classroom, such as research, travel, and service projects.
