At the request of the University College and with approval from the Office of the Provost, a non-degree, Kirkwood Joint Admission program of study will be effective fall 2025.
The University of Iowa and Kirkwood Community College have agreed to a new partnership for entering first-year students who do not meet the minimum academic standards for admission. Students enrolled in this program will live on UI’s campus and have access to all of the resources available to UI undergraduates. Kirkwood will serve as the student’s primary institution for billing and financial aid. Upon successful completion of two semesters at Kirkwood, students will be offered admission as transfer students to the University of Iowa.
