Devlin Family Cafe - Now Open!

Our Devlin Family Cafe is now open this semester! It is located on the 2nd floor of the Lindquist Center. On the menu you will find items such as made to order hot and cold deli sandwiches, espresso drinks, coffee, pizza, sushi, hot sandwiches, soup, snacks, candy, soft drinks, pre-made salads and sandwiches.

Purchase a dining gift card

Looking to treat your friend, family member, or an Iowa City visitor to a meal in the market places? Purchase a dining gift card! Gift cards can be used in all UI Dining retail and market place locations. Learn more at dining.uiowa.edu.

Cold weather reminders

In order to protect your living space, please close your windows and do not use your air conditioning unit. Open windows during extremely cold weather can increase the possibility of pipes freezing and breaking, which cause damage to your room and belongings, as well as those on floors below you. Even cracking the window open slightly in these temperatures will freeze the pipes in your heating unit. Need help using the heat in your room? Follow these instructions. 

Additionally, as a reminder, make sure you carry your Iowa One card with you at all times. You will use these to get into your residence hall building if it is locked. Make sure you update your Hawk Alert preferences. Residence hall doors will retain their normal locking schedule, as will hall desk operations. If that changes, we will notify you.

Hawk Talks

Hawk Talks will be happening over the next several weeks! Hawk Talks are conversations that resident assistants have with students three times a year around topics of academic and personal success. The topic of this Hawk Talk is “Our Community Cares” and will focus on helping students understand campus resources related to reporting sexual misconduct, and how to help a friend who may have experienced it. Your RA will be reaching out to you soon to schedule some time with you, with different options available for small group conversation and virtual resources.

Room changes

Looking to change your living situation this semester? The spring 2022 room change waitlist will open on January 25. Offers will be extended as space allows. You can join the waitlist via the housing portal. Offers will be extended from February 7 to March 25.

• January 28, 2022: Vintage Dinner Party Pop Up - Hillcrest Market Place / Last day change your meal plan
• January 31, 2022: Deadline to apply to be an RA.
• February 1, 2022: Lunar New Year Themed Meal. Happening in all market places.
• February 15, 2022: Deadline to apply to live on campus again.
