Updated Registration Dates for Winter 2020 and Spring 2021

Winter Session: December 28- January 22, 2021
Spring Session: January 25- May 14, 2021
Winter 2020 and Spring 2021 Academic Calendars Updates
On Monday, September 16, The University of Iowa campus was notified that winter 2020 and spring 2021 session dates have been updated. Winter 2020 session will begin as planned on Monday, December 28, 2020, and will be extended by one week to include four weeks of instruction instead of three. The winter 2020 session will end on Friday, January 22, 2021.
The spring 2021 semester will begin on Monday, January 25, 2021, one week later than originally planned, and there will be no spring break. The spring 2021 semester will end on Friday, May 14, 2021. Professional programs may choose to maintain their current calendars. Summer 2021 session will begin as scheduled on May 18, 2021.
Early Registration
In order to allow for administrative review of spring 2021 courses and to provide more time for students to meet with their advisors, Early Registration for winter 2020 and spring 2021 will be delayed. Early Registration will now run from November 30- December 11. It is anticipated that the schedule of courses will be posted for Winter 2020 and Spring 2021 on Friday, October 30. Students will find their assigned registration date and time in MyUI on October 19, 2020.
