Summer 2020 Attendance Class Lists are now available in MAUI. Instructors must submit attendance for each student appearing on the class list. Please note the following:
- Your attendance list should be submitted no later than 5 pm on Tuesday, June 2 if your course runs the entirety of one of the following sessions: 4- week (May 19- June 11); 6-week I (May 19- June 25); or 12-week (May 19- August 6).
- If your course will be open for final grades on June 2 or prior to the 10th day of your course, then the Attend list will not be available for updating.
- If your course does not meet the entirety of one of the sessions indicated above, submit your attend list no later than 5 pm on the 10th business day of your course. This would include courses that are off-cycle or meet the entirety of the 8-week (June 15- August 6) or 6-week II (June 29- August 6) sessions. Your attend list will open at Day 5 and close on Day 10. The open and close date will include the first day of your course (initial start date in MyUI) and will not include weekends or holidays.
- Attendance class list submission is a requirement of federal financial aid regulations. To establish federal financial aid eligibility, students must participate in at least one academic activity (as defined here) per class between the class start date and the attendance deadline.
- The University of Iowa must comply with the regulation to keep students financial aid eligible.
- For Summer 2020 courses underway, 100% completion of the attendance submission by instructors is a University of Iowa requirement.
- The University of Iowa is allowed to require attendance once and still be considered an institution that does not take attendance.

The Office of Financial Aid does not want to cancel aid for students who are participating in academic activity but whose instructors did not verify this activity. Attendance class list submission will allow students participating in academic activity to maintain financial aid eligibility. It is easier to complete the attendance class list than to respond to emails from Financial Aid regarding individual students.
